Connecting with resources

Bienvenidos a Gallatin Valley was created to connect new migrant families with services and resources available in our community. Our goal is to support families in identifying their own needs as they get settled in a new community and getting them what they need to make informed decisions about how to best those needs.

Bienvenidos mentors and volunteers agree to the following principles:

Principle 1: Family mentoring requires building a trusting relationship over time.

Principle 2: Family mentoring, via the Bienvenidos model, is based on connecting families to existing social resources.

Principle 3: It is essential to preserve participants’ emotional and physical safety while involved in Bienvenidos-related activities. It is likewise essential to provide a safe and secure environment for all families, children, youth, and volunteers who participate in Bienvenidos activities.

Principle 4: It is essential that Bienvenidos volunteers exercise confidentiality around their mentee family’s lives and legal status.
