Invited Panelists: Audrey Cromwell, Gallatin County Attorney; Alex Rate, Legal Director and Deputy Director, ACLU Montana; Ashley Melwani, Immigration Attorney, International Rescue Committee; Andrea L. Sweeney, Immigration Attorney, Kolko & Casey, P.C.; Representatives from Local Law Enforcement (Sheriff Springer and/or Chief Veltkamp).
Event Description:
- Join an inclusive discussion about immigration featuring a diverse panel with local law enforcement, attorneys, civil rights experts, and the county attorney. Learn about local government's role in serving community members, where to get help, who to talk to, and what you need to know.
- Explore questions around civic participation, due process, and access to services for all members of the Bozeman community.
- Learn about the roles of local law enforcement, prosecutors, and federal agencies
- Panelists will share their expertise through a clear, respectful exchange of information.
Format:
- Moderator will welcome everyone, introduce panelists, and provide rules for decorum and participation.
- Panelists will each give a brief intro on their background and experience. A moderator will then ask prepared questions for each panelist.
- Q&A will involve a moderator to facilitate respectful discussion
